Osmond Karim

(born 19 March 1968) is a Swedish feature film and documentary director, television presenter and photographer.

Karim came to Sweden from Uganda in 1975 when his family fled Idi Amin's reign. He has studied at Brooks Institute of Photography in California, USA, followed by employment with Steven Spielberg’s production company Amblin Entertainment. His first film Buffalo Soldiers was shot on the Universal backlot.

For many years he hosted Swedish television program Mosaic.

His documentary The Promised Land about searching for your identity by going back to your roots was selected as one of Sveriges Televisions contributions to Prix Europa in 2001.

Karim's film About Sara, took the Golden St. George Prize' for Best Film at the 2006 Moscow International Filmfestival.

He received a lot of attention in Scandinavia when he casted Danny Glover in his second feature För kärleken (Dear Alice) in 2010.

His latest films where two documentaries The Race Card and The Greatful, both films received extraordinary high ratings.

He is married to film producer Malin Holmberg-Karim and has two brothers, director Baker Karim, and actor Alexander Karim.
